Job summary

North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA, seeks a Rehabilitation Services technician for PRN - As Needed shifts. Under supervision of department professionals, you will perform general non-technical duties and assist with transfers, positioning, and treatments while maintaining treatment areas.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, preparing documentation, maintaining equipment and logs, transporting patients, and ensuring safety and cleanliness across the Rehab Services department;

Qualifications

• High school graduate is required.
• 1-2 years of college coursework preferred with some patient care experience.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Administer and assist with treatments (exercise, gait training, massage, hot packs, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, electrical stimulation, traction) under supervision.
• Prepare written documentation as directed by the department professional.
• Provide care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Maintain logs, charge records and schedules for daily operations.
• Prepare treatment areas, transport patients to Rehabilitation Services, and ready patients/equipment for treatments.
• Maintain and distribute supplies (linens, bandages, cleaning supplies, assistive devices).
• Provide general assistance to department professional as directed.
• Maintain department and equipment cleanliness per schedules.
• Serve as courier between Rehab Services Department and physicians.
• Follow department policies, safety, infection control and QA programs.
