Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide for its Acute Care team.

The role provides safe, basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist, helping with mobility and daily activities. You will support therapists in exercise programs, positioning, and group activities, and assist with swallowing studies when needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and computer literacy required.
• Patient care experience highly preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year work experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and appropriate basic patient care under supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.
• Assist in mobility, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), movement and ambulation, and positioning.
• Support licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as therapeutic exercise programs, group exercise programs, mobility volunteer aide program, and swallowing studies.
