Job description

We are looking for:

Rehabilitation Veterinary Doctor Coordinator

The Rehabilitation department focuses on helping our patients become mobile utilizing physical therapy, water therapy, cold laser therapy and more. This team is perfect for someone who enjoys working with a patient for extended amounts of time, as well as partnering with our clients on continued education to help their pet get better.

What you’ll do:
  1. Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift; may support different doctors within a department at different times
  2. Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s)
  3. Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics
  4. Delegates team responsibilities as appropriate to team members (rounding cases, planning and managing diagnostic scheduling and information, etc.)
  5. Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if doctor is unavailable
  6. Provides departmental client communication for cases (i.e. concerns, care plan discussions, Q&A in absence of doctor, etc.)
  7. Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s). Creates initial patient history, documents/gathers initial vital statistics and treatment orders, scribes referral letter and discharge/dismissal letter for doctor review.
  8. Monitors e-mails and voicemails for doctor(s)
  9. Assists with and ensures completion of outpatient procedures as required by doctor(s) (bandage changes, post-operative radiographs, diagnostic samples, medication administration, etc.)
  10. May escort outpatient clients to and from exam rooms and prepare/maintain exam rooms
  11. May act as a mentor or trainer for team members
  12. Client communications; explain and relay information from the doctor about the patient, be able to thoroughly explain the rehab department therapy process and different modalities and treatments offered (including underwater treadmill, acupuncture, canine massage, and chiropractics), confidently explain and demonstrate use of assistive devices (Assisi loops, Help-Em-Up harnesses, etc)
Who you are:
  1. Prior veterinary experience required
  2. Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $22.75 to $24.50 per hour based on skillset and experience.
