Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hiring a Rehabilitation Therapy Technician II for Big Spring State Hospital. The role supports habilitation and rehabilitation activities, assisting with treatment plans and therapy sessions under supervision.

A valid Texas driver’s license may be required and CPR/First Aid certification is expected within 12 months. The position is full-time, on-site at Big Spring State Hospital with a daytime schedule and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of how to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Certification in CPR and first aid or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
• Ability to utilize personal computers and relevant software.
• Ability to collect data for treatment plans and record observations.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and may be scheduled for specific or rotating shifts.
• Prepares materials for assessments and assists in conducting assessments.
• Accompanies individuals to activities and appointments when required.
• Maintains materials and supplies for therapeutic activities.
• Provides hands-on support for assigned therapeutic specialty.
