Grand Lake Health System is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to support rehabilitation services and unit activities. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating leisure activities for geriatric patients while collaborating with the care team.

You will work 40 hours per pay, with every other weekend and holiday rotations. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, privacy, and adherence to hospital policies.

Formación

• Basic skills in evaluating and treating geriatric patients, problem solving, and decision making.
• Completion of high school or above is preferred.
• Therapeutic Recreation Assistant Certification preferred but not required.
• One year of experience as a recreation or activities assistant preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Completes assessments of patient’s leisure training needs, abilities, and barriers within 24 hours of admission.
• Obtains information related to the patient’s previous leisure pursuits and interests and functional ability to participate in those activities.
• Collaborates with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members in developing the patient’s Individualized Treatment Plan.
• Evaluates patient’s ability and desire to participate in new leisure activities based on new disabilities.
• Evaluates patient’s response to the Individualized Treatment Plan.
• Facilitates Patient/Family Teaching, as appropriate to the Plan.
• Participates in discharge planning process.
• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with the patient and significant others.
• Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with all internal and external customers.
• Maintains established hospital and work area policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, guest relations, safety, environmental, and infection control.
