Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated assistant to support therapy teams in implementing treatment plans and recording patient progress in home and community settings. You will work closely with therapists, maintain patient safety, and help transport patients on community outings as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and an interest in physical, occupational, or speech therapy, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable driving history.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of work/volunteer experience in health care preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment activities under therapists’ guidance.
• Record patient progress for therapists as requested.
• Maintain professional communication with patients and the team.
• Report safety concerns to management promptly.
• Keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Accompany patients on community outings as needed.
• Drive the van transporting patients on outings when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA/privacy policies.
• Participate in staff development programs as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Our therapy team executes customized treatment plans that deliver real results and exceed patients' expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing treatment activities assigned and supported by the Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapists and/or Assistants
• Helps record patient progress for the therapists as requested
• Works well with patients and team, maintaining professional communication and boundaries
• Reports any safety concerns, or issues to management immediately
• Keeps treatment areas organized and clean.
• Accompanies patients on community outings, as needed
• Drives the van transporting patients on community outings, as needed
• Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Shares information only when recipient's right to access is clearly established and sharing of such information is in the best interest of the patient
• Adheres to and participates in Company’s mandatory Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices
• Maintains a professional appearance, is reliable and punctual, cooperative and conducts self in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice during assigned duties
• Attends/participates in internal staff development programs as required by facility
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
• A minimum of six months prior work/volunteer experience providing an individual instruction, preferably in a health care environment preferred
• Strong interest in physical, occupational and/or speech therapy preferred
• Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and part of a team
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance coverage and has a minimum of two years’ experience driving a motor vehicle
• Motor vehicle driver record background check results are within acceptable company standards at time of hire and annually thereafter
