Job summary

Horizon Health in Paris, IL, is seeking a Rehab Tech to assist clinicians with patient services, equipment setup, and clerical tasks. The role includes monitoring patients during transfers, setting up Holter monitors, and supporting the rehabilitation team under the IL Practice Act.

The position emphasizes patient safety, confidentiality, and efficient office duties, with shifts that may include early hours and PRN coverage across clinic sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a health-related field preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• CNA preferred with excellent customer service and communication skills
• Familiarity with medical office/hospital procedures

Responsibilities

• Supports rehab staff with patients by monitoring vitals, supervising patients on equipment, and assisting with transfers.
• Performs set-up, donning, and doffing of Holter Monitors.
• Checks on patients to ensure safety and comfort.
• Assists therapists with interventions as outlined within the IL Practice Act.
• Checks for outdates and restocks medical and non-medical supplies as needed.
• Demonstrates proficiency in taking physician orders and screening of patient documents for required components as mandated by each service line.
• Performs reminder calls and office duties such as scanning, filing, and faxing.
• Responds to emergent situations and follows policies to maintain patient safety.
• Maintains accurate statistical records as requested by the Department Supervisor.
• Completes maintenance logs for equipment daily.
• Provides direction to patients, families, and visitors in a courteous manner.
