Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Therapy Extern to assist licensed therapists in pediatric and adult rehabilitation settings. You will prepare and maintain supplies, set up treatment areas, and support routine therapies under supervision.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a PT/OT/ST-related program, have current BLS, and strong organizational skills; prior clinical experience is a plus. This per diem role offers exposure to clinical workflows and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; current enrollment or recent completion in a PT, PTA, OT, COTA or ST program.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Prior clinical experience is desired but not required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for therapeutic use.
• Assist therapist with routine treatment preparation, delivery, or cleanup.
• Participate in performance improvement and data entry.
• Prepare treatment area and set up equipment as delegated by the therapist.
• Maintain adequate supplies and inform staff when replenishment is needed.

The Therapy Extern is a skilled technical worker who assists the licensed practitioner, or therapist, in performing patient related activities in order to produce effective outcomes. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining supplies and equipment for therapeutic use. Carrying out, at the direction of the licensed practitioner, specific routine aspects of treatment preparation, delivery, or clean up that do not require the clinical skill of the practitioner to perform. Participates in performance improvement and program growth including data entry.

Prepares treatment area and set up of the equipment and patient room as delegated by the therapist.

Uses established channels of communication in solving issues related to assigned job responsibilities in accordance with customer service initiatives.

Checks and maintains an adequate level of supplies at all times. Informs appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered.

Able to prioritize and demonstrate good organizational skills to complete assigned tasks.

Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Card.

Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations

As a part of the requirements for this position, the employee has access to the entire medical record for the purpose of assisting the therapist who provides patient care throughout the continuum.

Demonstrates adequate knowledge of HICS, Safety Policies and Procedures, the use of SDS (formerly MSDS) sheets, Hazardous Material procedures, Safety Codes.

Reads and comprehends the company's Standards of Conduct. During the past evaluation period, has demonstrated compliance with the company's Ethics program.

EDUCATION:

High School graduate or equivalent, having: Current enrollment or recent completion in a local PT, PTA, OT, COTA or ST program

EXPERIENCE:

Prior clinical experience is desired, but not required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

Current AHA BLS certification card
