Job summary

The Boston Home seeks a Rehab Specialist (co-op) to coordinate care for people with complex disabilities and support therapy services from physical, occupational, and speech therapists and rehab aides.

You will learn best practices for providing 24-hour care for non-ambulatory individuals through wheeled mobility, assistive technology, and specialized medical care for adults with advanced MS and related diseases.

Responsibilities

• Assisting rehab staff to transfer, reposition, and facilitate mobility with clients
• Supporting rehab staff to complete repairs and revisions to power mobility options and customized assistive technology
• Transporting clients around the facility and campus as directed by rehab staff
• Following prescribed exercise programs to complete basic range‑of‑motion, assisted motion, and setup/removal from specialized medical equipment
• Documenting simple data on duties performed and follow-up required using available communication channels
• Offering basic problem‑solving for operation of power wheelchairs and operation of basic assistive technology to support resident independence with accessibility
