Qualifications

• Good communication skills are needed to communicate with patients, families, staff and physicians and to perform activities requiring ordinary courtesy and tact.
• Work requires general educational development and knowledge to perform tasks and to read/understand written treatment directives.

Responsibilities

• Assists therapist in non-clinical tasks and performs clerical duties as assigned.
• Assists therapists under direct supervision to monitor number of repetitions of patient exercises, providing support to patients getting on or off a machine, handing the patients weights, or alerting the therapist of a patient need. The aide provides no independent direct care to the patient.
• Maintains confidentiality
• Maintains equipment and patient care areas: dusting, cleaning, equipment, toys, keeping all areas organized including storage
• Maintains stock of supplies and cleans therapy equipment
• Assembles and disassembles equipment as needed
• Cleans mats and changes linen after each patient
• Keeps working environment safe, neat and clean
