The New Mexico VA Health Care System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the Rehab Unit GEC Service in Albuquerque, performing direct patient care under RN supervision. This role requires meeting VA basic requirements, potential grandfathering provisions, and the ability to observe and report changes, manage basic patient monitoring tasks, and assist in treatment planning meetings.

Rotating shifts may apply, with handling of lifting and clinical exposure typical of VA facilities.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or equivalent.
• One year of education above high school with courses related to nursing care.
• Completion of an intensive program of less than one year meeting NA requirements.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) to provide patient care and communicate with health teams.

Responsabilités

• Care for patients/residents in various health care settings under supervision.
• Perform nursing-related tasks, monitor patient status, and document observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic treatments as directed.
• Participate in treatment planning meetings and report deviations promptly.
