Job summary

The Nursing Rehabilitation Service Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a member of the nursing care team and assists licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents across preventive, acute, sub-acute, chronic, maintenance, and hospice care. They provide activities of daily living and contribute to the Veteran's treatment plan, recovery, and wellness under supervision.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience demonstrating ability to acquire NA skills.
• One year of education above high school with related nursing care courses.
• Short course study or program as a NA may meet experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in care of patients/residents across care settings.
• Perform activities of daily living and contribute to the care plan and recovery.
• Work under direction of a licensed health care provider.

Education

Six months of general experience

One year of education above high school with related courses

Completion of an intensive, specialized, occupation-related training course
