Responsibilities

• Provides Speech Therapy services to patients and initiates referrals per department procedures.
• Conducts screenings of patients to determine need for intervention.
• Evaluates patients to obtain data for treatment planning and implements plans.
• Interprets evaluation findings to patients, family, and team members.
• Establishes patient schedules in coordination with the team.
• Develops treatment plans with goals and methods to achieve them.
• Coordinates treatment plans with patient, family, and team members.
• Monitors response to intervention and adjusts as needed.
• Recommends equipment to improve communication and trains patient and staff on devices.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Develops home or community programs to maintain progress.
• Documents assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination.
• Supervises students and volunteers per state regulations.
• Maintains continuing education and professional development.
• Records treatment times and reports statistics to regional office.
• Provides care per standards and department procedures.
• Complies with Infection Control, OSHA standards and confidentiality.
