The Department of Labor’s Rehabilitation Services is seeking a diligent Rehabilitation Counselor II to assist adults with disabilities in securing employment in the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine. You will collaborate with employers, evaluate needs, and develop individualized rehabilitation plans while maintaining compliant records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation and 2 years of experience demonstrating knowledges and abilities in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.

  • Background in counseling and placement services within vocational rehabilitation or similar programs.

Salary: $26.36 - $33.73/Hour (includes a 2% stipend)

Location: Augusta, ME

Opening Date: September 27, 2026 Closing Date: October 12, 2026

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Rehabilitation Counselor II position. The candidate selected for this position will work from the Vocational Rehabilitation office co-located within the Lewiston CareerCenter, and will work extensively with individuals with disabilities, families, employers, and community providers. This professional will serve adult clients with various disabilities throughout the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Establishing a counseling relationship and partnership with consumers.
