Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Cedar Crest, PA, is seeking a patient care assistant to support the 5C Medical/Surgical Unit. You will provide direct care under licensed clinicians, assist with therapy preparation, and help patients with daily activities to promote recovery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year patient care or customer service experience.
• Ability to recognize and act on changes in patient condition.
• BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire.
• Competent in monitoring and reporting basic vital signs (HR, BP, RR).

Responsibilities

• Provides care activities for designated patients under RN/therapist guidance.
• Reports observations/changes in patient status to nursing staff.
• Assists with transfer, gait, and daily living activities.
• Assists patients with preparing for therapy and rides to therapy as needed.
• Maintains department goals and supports patient safety guidelines.
