Job summary

The DCH Rehabilitation Pavilion at Northport Medical Center in Alabama seeks dedicated Patient Care Assistants to support ongoing therapy goals and ensure patient safety during shifts. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and rehab staff to aid recovery and daily activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring vitals, documenting care, and keeping rooms clean and safe. Prior patient care experience is preferred; strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous patient care experience preferred (PCA/CNA).
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support under supervision.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab staff to monitor and support healing.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and mobility.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and daily weights as ordered.
• Maintain room cleanliness and ensure safety for patients.
• Respond promptly to call lights and attend to patient needs.
