Job Details

The Rehabilitation Aide assists in preparing patients and the environment for treatments and supports therapists during treatments under supervision. This role involves providing services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult, and frail elderly populations, demonstrating an understanding of their functional and developmental needs.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and/or walking most of an 8-hour day
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs
• Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, stair climbing, and standing unassisted
• Occasional transferring of patients over 200 lbs
• Frequent transferring of patients over 100 lbs

Visual Requirements

• Continuous near vision, depth perception, accommodation
• Full field of vision or compensatory ability
• Eye-hand coordination, far acuity, and reading ability

Hearing Requirements

• Normal conversation and occasional telephone conversations
• Ability to hear at low volumes

Working Conditions

• Limited exposure to hazardous substances
• Frequent exposure to body fluids and incontinent or confused patients
• Occasional exposure to combative or verbally abusive patients
• Potentially noisy and crowded treatment areas with limited climate control
