Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo is seeking a Rehab Clinical Assistant (Rehab Aide) for acute care, PRN. Under a therapist, you will provide non-billable patient care across pediatric to geriatric populations and perform clerical and supportive duties.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS within 3 months. Applicants with health-care experience and basic data entry skills are preferred. This on-site, part-time position supports therapy services and departmental operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a health care delivery system preferred.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Competencies in organization, department and job-specific tasks within 3 months.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Able to read and interpret data from equipment and computers.
• Keyboarding skills to operate a PC/mobile device.
• Gathers data and follows the plan of action from therapists.
• Able to use copier and fax machine.
• Cross-trains and attains competencies in other areas within Rehabilitation Services.
• Clear English communication and basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-billable patient care under supervision of a Rehabilitation Therapist.
• Assist with non-billable therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Transport patients and maintain department equipment and supplies.
• Answer phones, perform data entry, and manage clerical tasks as needed.
• Support therapists with co-treatments requiring a second person.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with patient safety.
