Kitchen Food Company in Hopkinsville, KY is seeking a seasoned Food Safety & Quality Leader to promote a culture focused on safety and continuous improvement. The role collaborates across Marketing, R&D, QA and operations to ensure FDA/USDA regulations and internal standards are met.
You will review packaging, nutrition panels, allergen declarations, and supplier COAs, and help shape future policies as the company grows.
Promote and support the food safety focused culturewith a commitment tostrong teamengagement,mentoringand cultural change
Maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders in the business
Promote and advocate continuous improvement in quality and food safety
Participate in developing future strategies and policies on food safety and qualityas the company grows and expands
Analyze and approve consumer-facing packaging, unit labels, and case codes to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other governing bodies
Create andvalidateNutrition Facts panels, ingredient statements, and allergen declarations based on product formulation data
Review and approve marketing claims (e.g., “Organic,” “Non-GMO,” “Gluten-Free,” “Heart-Healthy”) to ensure they meet federal regulations and can be backed by scientific documentation
Review technical documentation, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and specification sheets from raw material suppliers toguaranteethey meet internal and legal standards
Stay updated on evolving food laws and communicate these regulatory changes to Marketing, R&D, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams
Maintainaccurateformulations, specification sheets, and regulatory datarequiredfor both internal systems and customer/retailer portals.
Degree level qualification in a science or food technology fieldor equivalent
Strong technical background with extensive (10+years experience) infood manufacturing
Deep understanding of FDA, USDA, FSMA regulations, allergen requirements, and NLEA (Nutrition Labeling and Education Act) standards
Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software, ERP systems, and nutritional analysis software (e.g., Genesis)
Experience managingnon direct stakeholders
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively with all departments and key stakeholders within the business and ability to drive a Food Safety & Quality Culture
Effective project management and time management skills
Highly articulate with excellent communication skills
Dedicated with a strong work ethic & “can do” attitude
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy to meet deadlines
