Job summary

Hampton Farms in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Manager to support the Assistant Director of FSQA and the Director of FSQA in maintaining regulatory compliance. The role includes guiding changes to meet Federal Regulations, 3rd party revisions, and customer requirements, while working with quality teams on site policies, HACCP plans, and customer databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or related field is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in food manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
  • Must have or must be capable of acquiring SQF Practitioner certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with Kosher and Organic programs is preferred.
  • Experience with development of new products and labels preferred.
  • Internal Auditing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing 3rd party certifications (GFSI, organic, Kosher, Non-GMO, RSPO, Gluten Free, etc.).
  • Assist Plant QA Managers in updating or developing policies.
  • Assist with Plant 3rd party audits.
  • Perform Internal Audits.
  • Approve new and updated retail product labels.
  • Assist with Customer Audits if needed.
  • Assist QA Managers with corrective actions and responses to customers, if needed.
  • Manage 3rd party customer compliance databases.
  • Assisting with HACCP Plans/HACCP Plan reviews.
  • Review Regulatory and 3rd party updates and provide recommendations to the corporate quality team for modifications to Corporate and Plant policy.
  • Assisting with the creation of Nutritional Panels.
  • Work with R&D on Risk Assessments for new products.

Job description

This position can be based at our locations in either: Raleigh, NC, Edenton, NC, Franklin, VA, or Severn, NC.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for working directly with the Assistant Director of FSQA and the Director of FSQA in maintaining regulatory compliance. This role will be directly responsible for providing clear, concise guidance on changes needed to maintain compliance with Federal Regulation, 3rd party revisions, and customer requirements. The Regulatory and Compliance Manager will have direct interaction with quality teams and work with them on maintaining site policy, HACCP Plans, and helping with customer databases. They will be working with multi‑functional teams within corporate and the plant level on new products, labels, and conducting risk assessments.

  • Assist with managing 3rd party certifications (GFSI, organic, Kosher, Non‑GMO, RSPO, Gluten Free, etc.)
  • Assist Plant QA Managers in updating or developing policies
  • Assist with Plant 3rd party audits

Education and Experience

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb to extended heights (inspection) or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee must be able to perform sensory, including taste, on items produced in the plant, which could include multiple allergens.

Typical office setting along with time spent in food manufacturing plants. Periods of cold in winter, heat and humidity in summer. Dust and smoke/steam are common.

Location

There is some flexibility in the specific office location for this position. Upon negotiation, the individual could potentially work from one of the following locations:

  • Franklin, VA
Travel Required

Minimal overnight travel required but must be willing to travel up to 3 hours one way and work overtime days for plant trials, audits, or other plant activities. Overnight travel is estimated at once per quarter. Air travel is likely.
