Job summary

  • Partner with regulatory stakeholders across Lines of Defense to understand regulatory applicability and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to identify and implement sustainable solutions for mitigating regulatory risk.
  • Contribute to Regulatory Risk Management metrics and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Identify and oversee remediation of hotspot regulatory risk areas in Asset Servicing after change implementations.
  • Contribute to team communication with business stakeholders.
  • Advise on opportunities to enhance processes underpinning Regulatory Capability Framework (RCF).
  • Support management in achieving the company’s strategic goals.

Role/ Department

The Regulatory Risk Management team is responsible for the governing frameworks and accountability models that are in place to assess and understand current regulatory obligations, mitigate regulatory risk, and enable compliance with new and existing regulations. The team focuses on the development, adoption and oversight of activities, framework and accountability models related to the management of regulatory risk across the business and supports this mandate across four key pillars: Regulatory Framework & Governance, Regulatory Change Oversight, Regulatory Risk Management Regulatory Strategy & Sustainability

The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
  • Actively support the embeddedness of the regulatory change framework and relevant regulatory accountability models across the business.
  • Partner with relevant regulatory stakeholders within the business and across all Lines of Defense to understand the applicability of the regulatory landscape, understand how regulatory risk is managed and support requirements to adhere to applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to quickly identify and create effective and sustainable solutions for resolving regulatory risk issues.
  • Contribute to the production and review of appropriate Regulatory Risk Management metrics, ensuring their accuracy and relevance in supporting the Regulatory Risk Management strategy.
  • Identify, validate and oversee remediation of “hotspot” areas of regulatory risk impacting Asset Servicing because of assurance findings and issues consequent to regulatory change implementations.
  • Contribute to the wider Regulatory Risk Management team and communication to business stakeholders.
  • Advise on opportunities identified to enhance the effectiveness and efficiencies in processes underlying the RCF
  • Assists management in achieving Company’s strategic goals.
Skills / Experience
  • Previous experience in a regulatory, compliance or risk and control environment
  • Strong analytical skills, able to present and interpret data to ‘tell the story’
  • Ability to connect the dots across functional lines and think out of the box
  • Ability to identify problems, develop and communicate solutions
  • Able to manage the detail and drive execution while maintaining a strategic view
  • Deliver results to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to interact and manage expectations with senior level audiences, stakeholders and management
  • A strong and proven ability to analyse, synthesize complex issues into non-technical language
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change, with a positive attitude and vision to continually enhance / strengthen current status quo
  • Demonstrable ability to influence and persuade others (e.g. peers, partners, senior management and external parties) to implement change, strategy and decision making in a diverse and matrix environment
