Job summary

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) seeks a Section Manager for the Rates and Tariffs Section of the Regulatory Services Division. You will lead the WST Unit C, coaching staff, conducting regulatory analyses, and guiding complex tariff decisions.

This role requires expert regulatory knowledge and strong leadership in a hybrid Washington-based setting. Responsibilities include guiding unit operations, mentoring staff in regulatory theory and filings, and delivering

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in utility regulation, economics, accounting, finance, or public policy.
• Exceptional mastery conducting complex research, analysis, investigations, regulatory review, or similar professional work.
• Influences and accountability with large, complex projects or teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication of complex regulatory concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the Water, Solid Waste, and Transportation Unit (WST Unit C).
• Provide objective recommendations for the commission’s decisions and testify as needed.
• Mentor staff and provide professional development on regulatory theory, policy topics, and filings.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the unit and work with internal stakeholders.
