Job summary

Department of Public Health in South Carolina is seeking a licensed pharmacist to perform regulatory duties and inspections related to the SC Controlled Substances Act. The role covers audits, investigations, and collaboration with external agencies in the Upstate counties, Greenville and Spartanburg, under general supervision.

Ideal candidates will have an earned PharmD or Pharm degree, SC license in good standing, strong analytic, communication, and writing skills, plus flexibility for on-call

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacology or PharmD required.
• Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the SC Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
• Eligibility for certification as a law enforcement officer.
• Strong analytical, communication, reporting and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory inspections of authorized controlled substance registrants.
• Conduct comprehensive accountability audits to identify inventory discrepancies and diversion risks.
• Investigate registrant compliance violations under SC Controlled Substances Act.
• Provide staff training and participate in local/regional DPH meetings; support disaster preparedness and on-call duties.
