Job summary

The Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) in Florida is seeking a Financial Examiner/Analyst II for the Tallahassee division. This open competitive opportunity involves performing examinations, enforcing statutes, and contributing to regulatory reviews of financial institutions and services.

Candidates should have four years of relevant experience, a post-secondary degree, and strong data analysis, reporting, and communication skills.

Qualifications

Knowledge of mathematics.
Knowledge of financial accounting or auditing principles.
Knowledge of methods of compiling, analyzing, and presenting data.
Knowledge of techniques used in examinations or investigations of financial services.
Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data.
Ability to examine financial records.
Ability to write and prepare reports.
Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships; work independently.
Ability to use computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities

Utilize standard examining procedures in examination of entities regulated by the Bureau.
Enforce statutes and regulations as determined by the Bureau’s priorities.
Enter case data into REAL and manage activities, attachments, violations and related cases.
Analyze compliance filings submitted to OFR by regulated entities.
Ensure uniformity of staff procedures and processes related to examinations and reporting.
Conduct research and prepare reports for internal and external purposes.
Respond to inquiries and provide technical guidance to management and legal staff.
