United Water Conservation District is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Regulatory Affairs Specialist to provide regulatory compliance expertise for complex water resources projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental-related field required.
  • 4–6 years of experience with environmental regulatory matters.
  • Experience with CEQA/NEPA planning and permitting processes.
  • Knowledge of water resources and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to prepare formal technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance during project planning and prepare documentation.
  • Advise staff and management on regulatory matters to ensure compliant decisions.
  • Represent the District on regulatory and permitting matters with agencies and the public.
  • Guide CEQA/NEPA and permitting processes for water resource projects.
  • Perform administrative tasks including contracts, budgets, grants, and reports.
  • May supervise other staff in the Environmental Services Department.
