Sargento Foods Inc. is seeking a Compliance Counsel in Plymouth, Wisconsin, to monitor, interpret, and advise on regulatory requirements affecting our food manufacturing operations and supply chain.

You will analyze risk, support the legal team, and implement process changes to ensure ongoing compliance. In this role you will partner with Quality, Food Safety, Operations, and Supply Chain to embed regulatory requirements into manufacturing processes, labeling, and supplier programs, while

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in corporate regulatory/compliance.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory developments affecting food manufacturing and compliance.
• Support government affairs initiatives, including analysis of proposed legislation and preparation of comment letters.
• Brief senior leadership on emerging regulatory risks and opportunities and translate developments into practical guidance.
• Assist with implementing new and amended regulations and remediation plans across functions.
• Draft and manage regulatory submissions, registrations, and notifications.
• Provide regulatory guidance for new markets and locations and ensure alignment with FAR requirements.
