Job summary

Sargento Foods Inc. is seeking a Compliance Counsel to monitor, interpret, and advise the legal team on regulatory and compliance requirements affecting our operations and supply chain.

You will analyze risk, support cross‑functional teams, and help implement necessary process changes to ensure ongoing compliance. The role requires a Juris Doctorate and 5–7 years of corporate regulatory or compliance experience, with strong liaison skills for FDA/USDA and other authorities.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA‑accredited law school and bar admission.
• 5–7 years of experience in corporate regulatory law or compliance.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies (FDA/USDA etc.).

Responsibilities

• Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory developments affecting food manufacturing.
• Advise on compliance programs and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Draft regulatory submissions, registrations, and notices.
• Represent the company in regulatory inquiries and agency interactions.
• Support compliance roadmaps for new markets and locations.
• Advise on licensing, registrations, and permitting requirements.
