Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to review ingredients, packaging, and certifications and to manage COAs and letters of certification for Federal and State compliance.

You will support product development by maintaining specification sheets and ensuring proper labeling and testing for co-manufactured items. The role includes maintaining regulatory documentation databases, providing regulatory support to internal teams, and updating procedures in response to

Qualifications

• Develop, review, and approve product information, labels, and packaging materials to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and relevant certification requirements, including kosher, organic, gluten-free, and similar programs.
• Compile, maintain, and manage regulatory documentation databases supporting new product development.
• Review and maintain regulatory documentation including specifications, ingredient statements, nutritional analysis, and certifications.
• Provide manufacturing and technical regulatory support to internal departments.
• Review incoming products and packaging and communicate compliance status.
• Recommend procedural updates in response to regulatory changes.
• Perform administrative and additional duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates working knowledge in one of the following categories: Incoming products, Labeling of internally manufactured items, Labeling of externally manufactured items.
• Proficient in at least one WMS system and one regulatory software/database.

They support the departments objectives by maintaining and utilizing product specification sheets for the product development cycle. Reviews co-manufactured items for required labeling, testing and safe delivery method. Reviews reusable products for regulatory compliance and confirms all required testing is conducted and passes Federal and State regulations. Assists with sensory evaluations and kitchen trials as requested. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will update and maintain records in the department databases.

Coverage

In the absence of the Regulatory Compliance Specialist, all Food Safety and Quality responsibilities will fall upon the Regulatory Compliance Supervisor. The Regulatory Compliance Supervisor may delegate responsibilities.
