Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Consultant for Wildfire Risk Management in Bothell, WA. You will lead governance, regulatory reporting, and documentation management to meet federal and state requirements.

Collaborate with WRM, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Operations to maintain WMP filings, data governance, and auditable records. Hybrid work with WA-based flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to mentor peers and team members.
• Thorough understanding of utility operations and regulations for regulatory/compliance.
• Understanding of federal and state rules and regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) or similar databases.

Responsibilities

• Research federal, state, and other statutes, regulations, and orders.
• Plan, develop and implement programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Deliver training to ensure employees understand regulatory issues.
• Coordinate with compliance personnel to meet standards and timelines.
• Interact with auditors; address audit concerns with WRM and partners.
• Provide input into federal and state rulemaking proceedings.
• Communicate pending regulatory proposals and align with company objectives.
• Develop control practices for managing regulatory risks.
• Lead annual update/submittal of Wildfire Management Plan and related plans.
• Support regulatory filings, updates, amendments, and documentation.
• Lead BU response to Data Requests from regulators.
• Develop processes for contemporaneous documentation of decisions.
• Manage regulatory financial reporting and filings (Wildfire Tracker, True Up, Rate Case).
• Establish enterprise reporting standards for wildfire risk programs.
• Oversee compliance recordkeeping and artifact retention.
• Ensure metrics have documented methodology and source records.
• Oversee training compliance and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
