Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a Compliance Analyst to monitor, research, analyze, and interpret local, state, and federal law applicable to collections practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Navy Federal policies.

Responsibilities include monitoring regulations, conducting legal research, communicating findings to management, and leading cross-functional compliance efforts. A bachelor’s degree and experience with FDCPA/UDAAP and related acts are preferred.

Qualifications

• Compliance or legal analysis experience in lending and collections.
• Ability to analyze statutes, regulations and case law and apply to facts.
• Knowledge of research methods and ability to communicate findings clearly.
• Strong interpersonal communication and persuasion skills.
• Proficiency with research tools (Lexis, Westlaw) and internet research.
• Experience leading collaborative work teams.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and agency rulemaking.
• Conducts legal research and analyzes legislation, regulations, case law and examiner opinions.
• Communicates analysis recommendations to management and business units.
• Maintains compliance databases and trackers.
• Conducts compliance reviews and suggests corrective actions.
• Leads or participates in compliance training sessions.
