Job summary

The Auditor position is with the Packers and Stockyards Division in Des Moines, Iowa, within the USDA's Livestock and Poultry Program. You will perform regulatory compliance reviews and investigations to determine adherence to the Packers and Stockyards Act.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or auditing, or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting.
• Experience reviewing financial records and conducting audits.
• Ability to travel 25–50% and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Examine financial and operating records; review audit reports and other documents.
• Independently perform on-site investigations to ensure compliance with the Packers and Stockyards Act.
• Provide guidance on financial audit methodologies and review analyses and conclusions.
• Coordinate with Legal and General Counsel in investigations and prepare reports.
