???? Regulatory Affairs & Supplier Compliance Specialist

Department: Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs
Reports to: Regulatory Affairs Operations Manager

???? Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Regulatory Affairs & Supplier Compliance Specialist with a strong foundation in food science or a related field. This role supports regulatory compliance for our food product portfolio and manages our supplier approval process.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI (SQF/BRC) standards and excels in documentation, labeling, supplier engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

???? Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing supplier approval for imports, raw materials, confectionery, and packaging by collecting and reviewing documentation (e.g., GFSI, HACCP, certifications).

  2. Collaborate with Procurement, QA, and R&D to assess and onboard suppliers.

  3. Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List (ASL).

  4. Organize and improve documentation workflows for efficiency and compliance.

???? Regulatory Affairs

  1. Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. and international regulations (FDA, USDA, Health Canada, Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, RSPO).

  2. Review and approve labels, packaging, and marketing materials.

  3. Develop ingredient statements and nutritional panels.

  4. Create/manage carton labels, verification sheets, and internal regulatory records.

  5. Use Trustwell Nutritional and Nutritionist Pro software.

  6. Participate in special projects and provide recurring compliance support.

Compliance & Customer Support

  1. Maintain up-to-date regulatory documents (specs, allergens, SDS, Prop 65, PFAS declarations).

  2. Respond to customer inquiries with accurate documentation.

  3. Support internal/external audits with timely regulatory records.

  4. Track and manage compliance deadlines (certifications, submissions).

???? Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.

  2. 2–3 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, or quality roles in the food industry.

  3. Strong knowledge of U.S. food regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, FSMA).

  4. Experience with international regulations is a plus.

  5. Familiarity with GFSI schemes (SQF, BRC), HACCP, and GMPs.

  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.

  7. Strong organizational and communication skills.

Skills:

  1. Understanding of NLEA and food labeling claims.

  2. Experience using regulatory portals for submissions.

  3. Ability to translate technical regulations for diverse teams.

  4. Highly detail-oriented and process-driven.
