Randstad is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate in the Dallas, NC area to support the QA & Regulatory Affairs Director. You will oversee regulatory compliance for plant-based ingredients and colors for North America, coordinating with R&D, QA, Production, Sales, and Agriculture to ensure safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes independent research, precise documentation, and timely response to inquiries about labeling and claims, with a strong focus on FDA regulations and SQF standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field.
  • 2–3 years regulatory compliance experience in the food industry.
  • Hands-on experience managing ingredient and labeling compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA food regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Spanish language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Track, monitor, and communicate current, proposed, and new regulations affecting operations to internal stakeholders.
  • Research regulatory information following US FDA, USDA, Canadian, and Mexican guidelines.
  • Prepare responses to customer inquiries on regulatory status (specifications, allergens, labeling, nutrition, GMOs, organic claims).
  • Review and approve finished product specs, SDS, packaging labels for compliance.
  • Conduct regulatory assessments for new ingredients and product launches; support supplier approvals.
  • Create, update, and maintain internal regulatory statements.
  • Train internal teams on regulatory updates across departments.
  • Adhere to GMPs, SQF, and PPE requirements.

Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Associate

Overview

Are you a detail-oriented compliance professional with a passion for the food and beverage industry? We are currently recruiting a Regulatory Affairs Associate for a leading manufacturing client based in the Dallas, NC area. In this critical role, you will support the Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Director to ensure all products—including plant-based ingredients and colors for human and pet consumption—meet strict safety and regulatory standards across North America. Hours: Full-Time (1st Shift)

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a highly related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of proven experience in regulatory compliance specifically within the food industry.
  • Hands-on experience managing ingredient compliance, product compliance, labeling, and claims.
  • strong, working knowledge of FDA food regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, paired with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and Mexican food regulations is a distinct advantage, though not strictly required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus.

Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Duties
  • Track, monitor, and proactively communicate current, proposed, and new regulations that may impact operations to appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Independently research and navigate regulatory information in strict accordance with US FDA, USDA, Canadian, and Mexican guidelines.
  • Prepare timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries regarding product regulatory status, including specifications, allergens, labeling, nutrition, GMOs, Organic certifications, and other claims.
  • Review and officially approve finished product specifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and packaging labels to ensure total regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct thorough regulatory assessments for new ingredients and product launches, while also supporting the Quality team with new supplier approvals.
  • Create, update, and maintain internal regulatory statements.
  • Train internal teams on vital regulatory updates and support various departments—such as R&D, QA, Production, Sales, and Agriculture—on compliance topics.
  • Adhere to established company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
