Project description

About the Project: Our client is seeking Software Developers in Test with expertise in Networking and Test Automation to join a team responsible for developing new automation solutions for our customer. This team defines processes, debugs product functionalities during release cycles, and collaborates with the Test and Framework Development Team to identify and resolve issues. They work closely with the customer's Developer Team to reduce product flaws, maintaining a high pass rate in testing to ensure product quality and performance metrics (Quality Gate). The team adapts to the customer's agile release strategy.

Ideal Candidate: Deep knowledge of software testing and automation, computer networking, and troubleshooting skills for debugging testing scenarios (preferably in Python). Experience with distributed systems is highly desirable.

Current Team: Composed of experienced Automation and Manual QA Engineers working in an agile environment, supporting the product lifecycle. They utilize tools like Python, Atlassian Suite, VMWare, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, KVM/vCenter, Linux, Docker, Ixia.

Opportunities: Contribute to test automation and framework development, debug product and test frameworks, work across technologies and devices, manage containerized environments, define and own the Quality Gate process, and collaborate with local and customer teams.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop new test automation and frameworks using Python within a modern infrastructure.
  2. Contribute to the product quality strategy by maintaining the Quality Release Gate process.
  3. Execute and debug automated tests in Python as per release requirements.
  4. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve defects promptly.
  5. Work with the local team to debug framework and test issues.
  6. Create and track bug reports through resolution.
  7. Prioritize failures based on severity and impact.

Skills:

Must have:

  • Experience in product support or release support processes.
  • Testing and debugging skills for scalable, distributed systems and data center products.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on Python development, including OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, DRY.
  • Knowledge of computer networking (CCNA/CCNP level preferred): L2/L3 protocols, Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching/routing, BGP.
  • Experience with vendor products like Cisco IOS/NXOS, Arista, or Cumulus for at least 1 year.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Suite or similar tools.
  • Strong Linux OS, shell scripting, and command line skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to set priorities independently and work proactively in a startup environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with process definition.
  • Knowledge of EVPN + VXLAN.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and related tech.
  • Familiarity with virtualization/containerization.
  • Knowledge of multiple Network Operating Systems (Cisco NXOS, Arista EOS, Cumulus Linux, OpenSwitch, SONiC).
  • Experience developing testing tools or frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Spine-leaf datacenter architectures, BGP, OSPF, automation, Juniper, Cisco switches/routers, VMware vCenter, VPN technologies, VxLAN.
