Job description

Position: Assistant Professor – Physics (Tenure-Track)

Type: Full-Time, Regular Faculty

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Location: Moscow, Idaho, USA

Position Overview
  • Establish a strong research program in experimental, theoretical, or computational physics.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Teaching & Service
  • Teach typically one 3-credit course per semester, with research-active faculty teaching a reduced load (1:1).
  • Participate in outreach, community involvement, and service on department/college/university committees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field by time of hire.
  • Record of research activity in physics, demonstrated by peer‑reviewed publications.
  • Evidence of synergy with existing departmental or college research strengths.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Productive postdoctoral experience or equivalent.
  • Potential to secure external research funding.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate physics courses beyond TA duties.
