Regrind Operator Trainee – Specialty Films

The Specialty Films site in North America is seeking a Regrind Operator Trainee to support the production of its polyurethane and polycarbonate films. This position is responsible for recycling scrap products to ensure the operation produces quality thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and polycarbonate (PC) film and sheet.

Starting pay is $21.63 per hour. This full‑time role includes competitive pay, an annual bonus potential, generous paid time off, 401(k) with company match, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, parental leave and medical, dental and vision coverage (no waiting period).

Responsibilities
  • Operate batch and continuous re‑processors to produce quality regrind materials from scrap film in a timely manner.
  • Document scrap/regrind inventory to provide up‑to‑date information to Production & Materials Management Departments.
  • Produce quality materials distributed to a broad array of customers.
  • Complete orders accurately to help ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain production volume and efficiency through physically demanding processes.
  • Perform other reclaim operations (e.g., peel back of aliphatic film to remove interleaf, cut scrap rolls on a guillotine) before film can be reprocessed.
  • Assist with cleaning of hoppers, blenders and metering systems, cutting over rolls, using a hoist to remove rolls from the winder, packaging onto skids and wrapping skids for storage into inventory.
  • Assist Production Line Operators with ancillary functions when grinding is not required.
Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in TPU reprocessing.
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal instruction.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to work a 12‑hour shift; positions available on day shift (7am–7pm).
  • Capable of routinely lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, climbing stairs, lifting and pulling 10lbs in an overhead position, working in ambient room temperatures up to 100°F, and safely around hot surfaces and rotating equipment.
