Qualifications

Registry Staff Pharmacist Job Summary:

Performs inpatient and outpatient registered pharmacist duties as outlined below.


Registry/PRN Staff Pharmacist Essential Functions:
Dispensing – 80%
  • Reviews and interprets drug orders and completes or supervises the process of providing medication to hospital patients, clinic outpatients, and hospital employees.
  • Advises or consults with and provides drug information to physicians, nurses, hospital personnel, patients, and patient families.
  • Provides or supervises the production of IV admixtures, chemotherapy admixtures, or other compounded medications, using an aseptic technique and following established department policies and procedures.
  • Monitors patients’ drug therapies for appropriateness, adverse effects, and possible interactions.
  • Performs quality assurance monitoring, drug use evaluation, drug therapy monitoring, and floor stock duties as assigned.
  • Provides guidance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians in the joint effort of providing medications and/or supplies to patients and ancillary departments.
Non-Distributive – 20%
  • Participates in the organization and maintenance of the pharmacy environment and the management and control of inventory.
  • Participates in the training and development of Pharmacy personnel (i.e. pharmacy technicians and new staff pharmacists).
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and in-services.
  • Performs quality assurance monitoring which includes:
    • Data collection, assessment, and evaluation
    • Problem identification, resolution, and follow-up
    • Report generation
What we need from you:
  • Education: Minimum B.S. in Pharmacy
  • Related Work Experience: 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Background in pediatric care desirable; should be physically able to get around in a fairly close environment; must be able to operate computers and general office equipment.

Compensation:

Pay: $70.00 per hour
