Decatur Clinic Information

Emory Endoscopy Clinic at Decatur

• Number of Rooms: 3 Procedure Rooms
• Nursing scope of practice: Endo GI
• Daily patient population: Approximately 30
• Staffing Hours: 7a-5:30p Monday-Thursday. Hours may vary depending on cases and schedule needs.
• Travel to other Emory ASCs is REQUIRED. There is a 6-week orientation; PRN orientation varies.

Position Details

7a-5:30p / PRN / 10 Hours

We are seeking a PRN GID Lab Technician for The Emory Clinic, Decatur, responsible for delivering high-quality care as a certified technician ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist gastroenterologists with procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, liver biopsy, and others.
• Assist with specimen collection, start/discontinue IVs, operate monitoring equipment, and support patient care during procedures.
• Educate patients about procedures, verify consent forms, and coordinate patient transport.
• Operate specialized endoscopy equipment and maintain procedure rooms.
• Keep accurate records and perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Gastrointestinal Laboratory Technician or current licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN)
• OR four years of Gastrointestinal Laboratory Instrument Technician experience
• OR three years of Nursing Technician II experience
