Job description

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Registry Certified Nursing Associate within the Kenneth Moy Care Center.

Effective October 1st, 2022, $20.00 per hour and additional hourly tenure payment based on years of experience as a C.N.A.

Experience as a Certified Nursing Aide Hourly Tenure Payment

  1. 1 Year $1.50
  2. 2 Years $2.50
  3. 3 Years $3.50
  4. 4 Years $4.50
  5. 5 Years $5.50
  6. 6 or more Years $6.50

As part of our registry team, you will work a minimum of eight (8) shifts per calendar month, six (6) of which must be weekend days. All shifts worked must be eight (8) hours. Total number of hours worked per year must not exceed 1,000 hours.

As part of your schedule, you will be required to work a minimum of:
  1. One (1) major summer holiday: Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), or Labor Day.
  2. One (1) major winter holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day.
  3. Two (2) additional County holidays: Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, or Day after Thanksgiving.

This position is assigned to the AFSCME Council 31 (Care Center) Bargaining Unit.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Changing, feeding, and bathing residents; attending to other personal and grooming needs.
  2. Serving meals to residents and feeding those unable to feed themselves.
  3. Performing incontinence checks on every resident every two hours.
  4. Providing basic skin care to residents.
  5. Noting any unusual changes in residents' condition and reporting them to the RN.
  6. Transferring residents to and from commode, bed, and wheelchair.
  7. Taking residents’ temperatures and vital signs.
  8. Turning and positioning immobile residents every two hours.
  9. Maintaining resident quarters in neat and orderly condition.

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
  1. Completion of the State of Illinois Certified Nurse’s Aide Training Program.
  2. Passing score on the State of Illinois Competency test.
  3. Must be registered as active with a clear record on the State of Illinois registry.
  4. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Candidates that have the State of Illinois Certified Nurse’s Aide Training Program completed without a passing score on the State of Illinois Competency test must receive a passing score within 120 days of employment.

A post-offer physical is required.
A pre-employment background check is required.
