Responsibilities

• Enter patient information accurately to prevent HIPAA-related defects.
• Register patients for procedures, admissions, or ER timely and accurately in Epic/OnBase/RTE.
• Ensure all forms are accurate, scanned, and indexed in Epic.
• Record notes in referrals or authorizations and apply billing indicators as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive coworker relations.
• Collect and post patient financial responsibility timely and accurately.
• Support department performance improvement activities and training.
• Maintain accuracy of insurance codes and manage work queues to meet standards.
• Follow time and attendance policies and minimize manual clocking.

Overview

Registration Representative PD - (SAD007611). MemorialCare is a nonprofit integrated health system with four hospitals, award-winning medical groups, and over 200 sites of care. We support access to patient-centric, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. This role contributes to MemorialCare's leadership in value-based and other care models.

The Registration/Pre-Registration Representative completes registrations for patients presenting for procedures, admissions, or the ER. The role collects and verifies demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate identification and billing.

Responsibilities

1. Adhere to department policy of using two identifiers and verify armband placement verbally.
2. Avoid HIPAA violations by accurately entering information to prevent defects such as incorrect PCP or guarantor.
3. Interview, register, and pre-register patients timely and accurately with proficiency in Epic, OnBase, RTE, and applicable websites to ensure efficient registrations.
4. Ensure all registration forms are accurate, complete, scanned, and indexed in Epic.
5. Enter important notes in referrals or authorizations, and utilize billing indicators as required.
6. Demonstrate excellent customer service with staff and patients and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and others.
7. Collect and post patient financial responsibility timely and accurately.
8. Participate in and support department performance improvement activities, meetings, and training projects.
9. Maintain an accuracy level of 95% or better by assigning correct insurance codes.
10. Monitor and manage assigned work queues to maximize productivity and meet departmental standards.
11. Adhere to the Memorial Health System time and attendance policy; ensure accurate time entries with minimal manual clocking.
12. Other duties as assigned.
