Registrar, Norton Community Medical Associates - West Louisville, Days

The Registrar performs registration in computerized systems, demonstrating a high level of computer proficiency. Responsibilities include pre-registration, entering date-of-service upon patient arrival, and updating patient information in the EMR. The role involves obtaining current demographic and insurance details at each patient encounter, verifying accuracy across all systems, and collecting payments according to Norton Healthcare policies. The Registrar sends missed appointment letters, has knowledge of insurance carriers, and secures referrals to PCPs or specialists if needed. Scheduling patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and consultations is also part of the duties, along with securing precertifications and authorizations for tests and admissions/transfers. The role requires answering and prioritizing incoming calls, providing excellent customer service, coordinating correspondence, and managing patient charts and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform registration in computerized systems with proficiency.
  • Conduct pre-registration and enter date-of-service upon patient arrival.
  • Update patient demographic and insurance information accurately.
  • Collect payments from patients per policies.
  • Send missed appointment letters.
  • Understand insurance carriers and secure necessary referrals and authorizations.
  • Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, and consults.
  • Answer, prioritize, and route incoming calls, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • File documents appropriately and assist with chart preparation.
