Job Description: Patient Access Registrar

At Virtua Health, we are dedicated to serving our community by providing exceptional healthcare services. We are seeking a Patient Access Registrar to join our team in Marlton, NJ. This role involves gathering and entering patient demographic information, verifying benefits, obtaining authorizations, and acting as the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a positive experience.

Location: Marlton - Rt 73 and Brick Road

Employment Type: Employee

Employment Classification: Per Diem

Work Shift: 2nd Shift (United States of America)

Weekly Hours: 0 (schedule to be determined based on department needs)

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Obtain and verify patient insurance cards and identification, entering all relevant data into the hospital system.
  2. Secure signatures for consent and regulatory documentation, processing necessary paperwork.
  3. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and deposits, and resolve billing issues in collaboration with billing and insurance representatives.
  4. Provide referrals and financial assistance options to patients as needed.
  5. Support office functions including scheduling, phone support, and filing.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience in a professional setting; healthcare or medical office experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and multitask effectively.
  • Basic computer, typing, and word processing skills.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Epic system experience highly preferred.

Please note: The work schedule will be scheduled in advance, requiring a minimum of 4 shifts per month, including weekends and holidays. All Registrar positions require a 3-week orientation period with dayshift hours.
