Registered Wound Care Nurse

Salary: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patients presenting acute and chronic wounds, such as pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, and other skin injuries.
- Formulate and execute personalized treatment plans to address patient-specific needs and promote swift healing.
- Monitor and report on patients' healing progress, revising treatment strategies as required for optimal outcomes.
- Perform wound care procedures, including medication administration and wound dressing.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and families on managing wounds at home and preventive measures for future wounds.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Meticulously document all patient interactions, care provided, and treatment progress in the facility's electronic health records system.
- Manage the inventory of wound care supplies, ensuring that essential items are always available.
- Stay abreast of advancements in wound care through continuous professional development and implement best practices in patient care.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Proven ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong physical stamina essential for performing wound care procedures which involve standing, walking, and bending for prolonged periods.
- Experience and familiarity with using electronic medical records and other healthcare-related technology systems.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced environment while managing multiple patients and tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized certification in wound care (CWON, CWCN, or similar) is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in a long-term care facility or similar healthcare setting.
