Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Part-Time Instructor for our Registered Apprenticeship program. In this role, you will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance to students on welding theory based on in-house & NCCER curriculum. The position requires a commitment of four-eight hours per month, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to supplement their current schedule.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc.is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct classes to teach welding theory based on in-house & NCCER curriculum
  • Host office hours for students enrolled in company self-guided apprenticeship training to answer questions and provide guidance
  • Offer constructive feedback to students on their welding projects, assisting them in improving their skills and achieving high-quality results
  • Complete student evaluations on progress in the program
  • Ensure records of attendance and performance are maintained
  • Collaborate with the education team to develop and update curriculum materials, ensuring relevance and alignment with industry standards
  • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in welding & electrical, integrating relevant updates into the curriculum
  • Participate in periodic meetings with the education team to discuss curriculum development, student progress, and any other relevant topics

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and SMAW
  • Possession of relevant AWS or ASME certifications are highly desirable
  • Highly prefer theory based experience or education (ex: Mechanical Engineering degree)
  • Prior experience in teaching or training others in welding techniques or theory is preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work patiently with students of varying skill levels and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Willingness to adapt to the part-time schedule and collaborate with the education team
  • Part-time roles are not eligible for benefits
