My Vet Animal Hospital is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician - Urgent Care!

At My Vet Animal Hospital, we’re more than a clinic — we’re a family built on mentorship, support, and progressive medicine. Our beautiful, brand-new 10,000+ sq ft AAHA-accredited hospital is fully equipped with 2 surgery suites, 11 exam rooms, and a dual dental suite. We offer general practice and urgent care services to a wide variety of species and are deeply committed to the community we serve.

We’re looking for a full-time RVT to join our growing team and be a key player in both our general practice and urgent care program. You’ll work alongside an incredible team of six doctors, supportive CSRs, and fellow technicians who value collaboration and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Providing high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and urgent care patients
  • Assisting in surgery, dental procedures, radiology, and lab work
  • Supporting client communication and education
  • Jumping in wherever needed – we’re a team-first kind of place!
What We’re Looking For:
  • Current Ohio RVT license or soon-to-be licensed RVT
  • A positive attitude, team spirit, and love for learning
  • Confidence handling multiple species (bonus points for exotics experience!)
  • Comfortable working in urgent care or eager to be trained

Job Summary:

The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) provides leadership and training to the medical support staff in the operation of a small animal facility in accordance with hospital policy and procedures, and provides medical care to patients as allowed in the veterinary practice act. The RVT will communicate effectively with team members and clients, demonstrating great attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities
How you'll make an impact:
  • Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Provide guidance to support staff to ensure smooth shift operations.
  • Mentor team members for career advancement and personal development.
  • Provide input for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
  • Provide patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM.
  • Maintain excellent client communication.
  • Record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information accurately.
  • Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients.
  • Answer client inquiries about basic animal care and routine procedures; handle medical questions confidently and refer to veterinarians when appropriate.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • State Department of Regulation Licensing required.
  • 1+ Years of Veterinary industry experience required.
  • Proficient in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to give SQ, IM, and IV injections.
  • Knowledge of prescription drugs, their usage, dosage, and side effects, and ability to explain to clients.
  • Understanding of anesthesia and recovery states, and alert veterinarians to changes or concerns.
  • Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature, and recover patients from anesthesia.
  • Must have reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language skills to perform duties proficiently.
  • Confidence around pets.
