Job summary

Animal Dental Care & Oral Surgery in Fort Collins, Colorado seeks a compassionate RVT/CVT/LVT with 3+ years of veterinary experience and an interest in dentistry and anesthesia.

You will support the patient journey from pre-operative prep through anesthesia, dental procedures, recovery and discharge, while collaborating with doctors and clients to ensure clear communication and high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • RVT/CVT/LVT certification required and active licensure.
  • Minimum 3 years veterinary technician experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited vet tech program or AS in Vet Technology.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery of anesthesia.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal probing and charting.
  • Assist in dentistry and oral surgery procedures.
  • Venipuncture and phlebotomy for diagnostics and sampling.
  • Communicate treatment plans and estimates to clients.
  • Maintain sterile technique and prep treatment areas.

Animal Dental Care & Oral Surgery – Fort Collins, CO

At Animal Dental Care & Oral Surgery, our veterinary technicians are an essential part of our patient care team. We are a fast-paced, high-volume veterinary dental specialty referral practice providing advanced dental care and oral surgery for dogs and cats.

We are looking for a compassionate, career-driven RVT/CVT/LVT who enjoys anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and working as part of a highly skilled team. The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time RVT/CVT/LVT with 3+ years of veterinary experience and an interest in dentistry and anesthesia.

The ideal candidate is confident in anesthesia and patient care, enjoys learning, thinks critically, communicates effectively, and takes pride in doing things correctly and efficiently. Previous dentistry experience is preferred, but we are willing to help the right candidate develop their dental skills.

You will play an important role throughout the patient's visit, from pre-operative preparation through anesthesia, dental procedures, recovery, and discharge. You will also work directly with pet owners and communicate closely with our doctors and team regarding patient care, treatment plans, and estimates.

Technical Skills & Responsibilities
  • Surgical and anesthesia experience, including induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery
  • Dental prophylaxis, periodontal probing, and dental charting
  • Digital dental radiography is a plus
  • Venipuncture and phlebotomy
  • Administration of medications PO, SQ, IM, and IV
  • Strong understanding of veterinary medical math and drug calculations
  • High-quality nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Safe and confident animal handling and restraint
  • Preparation and organization of treatment areas for procedures
  • Preparation, cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Ability to recognize changes in patient status and communicate concerns promptly
  • Working directly with clients from check-in through discharge
  • Clear and professional communication with doctors, technicians, assistants, and clients
  • Ability to discuss treatment plans and estimates with clients and communicate patient needs to the doctor
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently while also being a dependable team member
  • Willingness to learn and continue developing technical skills
  • Ability to safely lift 30+ pounds

Required
  • RVT/CVT/LVT certification
