Job summary

Humane Colorado is hiring Registered Veterinary Technicians to join the Shelter Veterinary Services team in Denver. Compensation starts at $28.47-$30.38 per hour, with base range $25.47-$27.38 plus a $3 differential for RVTs. Work alongside veterinarians and technicians to deliver high-quality care to homeless animals at the Leslie A. Malone Center.

The role includes lab work, radiography, anesthesia, and medical care, with full-time benefits and a shift pattern of four ten-hour days.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures with proper restraint.
• Provide medical assistance and counseling to patrons.
• Use and maintain medical equipment.
• Perform physical examination of animals.
• Perform data entry to update animal records.
• Clean and maintain work areas.
• Perform euthanasia and related tasks.
• Contribute to and lead initiatives to improve processes and procedures.

Purpose of Position:

Compensation:

Starting at $28.47-$30.38 per hour (Compensation base range is $25.47 - $27.38 + $3 per hour Registered Veterinary Technician differential. Starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Handle and restrain animals of various sizes, weights, and temperaments. Subject to animal bites or scratches. Work performed in high noise level areas. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Exposure to radiation in association with performing radiology procedures. Physical efforts require constant bending, stooping, standing, climbing stairs, and walking. Repetitive motion associated with medical and surgical care. Frequent lifting of animals and objects up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
