Job summary

Southwest Veterinary Hospital, a two-doctor canine and feline practice in California, seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our collaborative team. You will perform anesthesia, dentistry, nursing care, diagnostics, and client education, leveraging your CA RVT license and at least one year of clinical experience.

About You
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Requirements:

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Passion for continued learning and professional growth
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to medicine
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Clinical Skills

You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):

  • Patient assessment and physical examinations
  • Venipuncture and advanced phlebotomy
  • IV catheter placement and fluid therapy
  • Digital radiography and radiation safety
  • Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Routine dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostics
  • Medication calculations and administration
  • Critical care and hospitalized patient nursing
  • Client education and discharge instructions
  • Accurate medical record documentation
Leadership

We're looking for an RVT who is excited to:

Schedule

Our hospital is currently open:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Compensation

We believe each team member should be compensated based on their knowledge, skills, experience, and the value they bring to our hospital.

Expected pay range: $24.00–$26.00 per hour
