San Jose Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As an RVT, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work will include outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.

*Shift availability needed: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
2. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
3. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
4. Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
5. Maintain medical records with practice systems.
6. Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
7. Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
8. Support and mentor fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
• Registered Veterinary Technician licensure required
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and injections
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and monitoring equipment
• Team player, eager to learn, self-motivated
• Enjoys a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task

Compensation: $27 - $32/hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual rate will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
