Tarzana Pet Clinic in Tarzana, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. The role involves nursing care for outpatient and hospitalized patients, obtaining histories and vital signs, and assisting with surgeries and dental procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) required – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and treatment for outpatient and hospitalized patients.
• Obtain and record patient histories, weights, and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgery.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications as directed.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, including radiographs, as trained and authorized.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia and provide recovery care.
• Assist veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures.
• Perform dental cleanings and provide oral care as appropriate to training and credential.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and home-care instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
